October 11, 2019: Have you ever been to a party with acquaintances and your only connection to the host is constantly scanning for the best thing in the room? Today Lisa Crawley reveals a new, slinky slow-burner ‘Best Thing In The Room’, which features the much-loved singer-songwriter’s signature glacial vocals and infectious melody writing. The hypnotizing new track was co-written and produced with Grammy-nominated producer Rob Kleiner in Los Angeles.
Watch the Martin Sagadin directed video dripping in suspense, awkward silence and dark satire. The video (watch here) features Crawley, Hamish Parkinson, Bronwyn Turei and Liam Coleman as they try to find amusing ways of entertaining themselves.
This is the latest in a string of singles and videos released by one of New Zealand’s best melodic pop-writing expats. Recently Crawley starred in the critically acclaimed theatre production of ONCE: The Musical which came to Auckland in June this year.
Charming audiences at home and abroad, the prolific singer-songwriter is just getting started, with a new body of work due to surface in 2020 and a musical collaboration with Bullet Heart Club in the works.
